Tuesday Tangents

1. Tomorrow is Halloween!!! Can I get a Woot Woot!?! Good things: I have a awesome costume, fun coworkers to spend the day with, and it's a good excuse to eat candy. Bad things: I spent 10x the time on my costume as I planned. I'm going to be Minnie Mouse and I thought it was a good idea to sew on gazillion dots onto my skirt. Eh....my fingers and back HURT. Good thing it's dang cute! Pics to come. I did not carve a pumpkin or go to an official haunted house. This hurts my heart. I'm super sentimental so it's going to take some time to cope.
2. In the last few days I've hung out with a long lost distantly related cousin and I'm kicking myself in the butt (if I could reach my own butt) that we haven't spent more time together while we were in the same town. He's so talented and I have serious costume envy.
3. I have never not loved my job. I hope it's just a little dip in the road and that I'll feel better about it soon, but 3 days a week there is 3 days too many at the moment.
4. Why am I still awake? I have to wake up in 5 hours. Yuck.

Disneyland Part #2

If you survived the first installment of my Disneyland recap, congratulations cause it was long! We cut our third day at Disney a bit short because we were exhausted! On Saturday, we trekked to Hollywood for Universal Studios and hung out with our favorite Transformers boys. On the way, we spotted a huge outlet mall call The Citadel. We went straight there for a little retail fun and lets just say it was a productive stop. There were so many fun stores and we sure took advantage! On Sunday we went to Sea Word for our final day of theme parks. I love aquariums! They have a new roller coaster that was so much fun, we rode it over and over again. We somehow were able to get all of our purchases home by some small miracle. Now fall needs to stay just a little longer so I can wear my new cute clothes!

Tuesday Tangents

2 more hours and I would've missed Tuesday Tangents! Ah! The world would stop spinning.
1. I've been at work so much in the past week I may as well sleep in my scrubs. If they weren't covered in nasties, then I probably would.
2. My parents came down on Saturday for my sister's game and we went out to dinner after. Is it sad that I'd rather be with them on a Saturday night then anyone else? I don't think so. That's probably why I'm still single.
3. I like to think that I like older men, and by older I mean old. But as manifested tonight, this is not a good idea.
4. My girl Tay Tay came out with a new CD yesterday. I am ashamed to say that I have not purchased it yet. I'm sorry Tay and I promise to be more loyal in the future.
5. Hygiene. I pride myself in being a daily shower taker and I think everyone with access to running water should take advantage of it. I promise I'm not prego but my sense of smell has become much more intense lately and there are some smelly, smelly people out there. Please, please for the love, please shower. Please. When I have to hold my breath when I walk by you as to not vomit on my shoes, that is a sign that last Tuesday's shower was too long ago.
That's all for this week. Peace.

Disneyland Part 1

Last week I made what I hope to be a first annual trip to Disneyland with Celeste (a friend from work). We had SO SO SO much fun! Luckily she loves rides, food, and people watching as much as me! We spent 3 days at Disneyland and California Adventure and then a day at both Sea World and Universal Studios. We were theme parked-out by the end. We managed to fit in way too much shopping in between also. A lot of tacos and ice were also part of this trip, right Celeste? Like I said before, Minnie ears make Disney so much better. Give them a try on your next visit.

First day. I was sporting a Halloween shirt and earrings. Yea for Halloween!!!

Trying to drive and take pictures makes for a wild car ride.

This place was so dang cute!

Jack Skellington

Eating at the Blue Bayou was on Celeste's bucket list and I was happy to help her accomplish this goal. We spent an arm and half of my right leg on our food but it was so good! The restaurant is in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride so the setting was really fun.

We braved the cold and endured Splash Mountain.

Early on the second morning trying to get tickets to the Cars Land ride.

One of the many cheesy poses that the photographers had us do.

Long story short, we probably spent about 3 hours in line total for the ride Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land. That was WITH fast passes. We endured and it ended up being such a fun ride!

We ended day 2 at Disneyland with the World of Color. I don't know if it's because I was overwhelmed with being tired or cold but I almost teared up it was so beautiful! I could've watched it all night!

When Kayla Comes to Town

I met so many fun people on the ship this summer and Kayla aka Lt. Hortin was one of my favorites! She came to town last week to visit us Utah girls and I got to hang out with her for a day before I left for California. Krystal and I picked her up from the airport and below is her with her sweet sign.

After a few glitches, we finally were on our way to Park City. Growing up so close, I rarely took advantage of the fun things to do there. We went to Park City Mountain Resort and rode the 2 Alpine Slides and the zip line. It was SO fun! Sad that it took a tourist coming to town to get me to go there. I was a wee bit nervous on the slides at first, but I got over it and had the best time! I resolve to go there more.

Krystal, Kayla, and I

After our adventures at the resort, we cruised Main Street (which brought back good high school memories) and found somewhere for dinner. We chose High West Brewery and it was delish. I had bison for the first time in my life. It was one of the best burgers ever! I felt like I still had bison running around in my stomach for the next 24 hours but it was worth it. After, we sped to Provo to pick up some pants that I HAD to have for my trip (the pants I mentioned in TT). It was a successful stop and Kayla and I joined Krystal as the proud new owners of some amazing stretchy pants.

We then went to visit the rest of our ship friends who just all happened to be working that night in the ER. Love these girls!

Tuesday Tangents

I just got back from the happiest place on earth and I can't wait to blog about it but it will have to wait for another day. There are some real embarrassing pictures of me below, so I hope you enjoy them at my expense!
1. Utah is really, really beautiful. I went up to Park City for the day with a couple of friends and I'm mad at myself for not taking advantage of this fun place more (more on this day later.) I just wanted you to enjoy this blooper of a picture. There were several that day. I'm cute.
 2. A few of you may recognize a similar compromising picture that was taken of me a couple of years ago at Lagoon by my good friend Whitney. She thought it was a good idea to put in on Facebook and it got quite the reaction. Yes, I have a chest to be reckoned with but NO my boobs are not this big. It looks like I'm going to take over the poor teacup with these things.
3. Yes, I became one of those people that wear Minnie ears on their heads. Lots of people do it and I always thought they were a little strange. Let me tell you what, Disney is even more fun when you're representing everyones favorite female mouse. I even bought myself a pair as shown in the next picture.
 4. They're hard to see in this picture, but I'm the proud owner of 2 new pairs of the most comfortable pants I've ever strapped on this body. I think I may devote a post to them later.
 5. This picture was taken on the Tower of Terror. I wish it was clearer but it was off one of their screens. Oh well. It perfectly captures my excitement and love for Disneyland in a cheesy image. I really was this excited!
Happy Tuesday!

Tuesday Tangents

This weeks TT:

1. I'm off to Cali to hang out with Mickey and Minnie. Can I get a h*ll ya!?!
2. I gave into the temptation and downloaded Instagram. I'm only a little behind.
3. I ate bison for the first time in my life last night. I support the consumption of buffalo or as my friends know them by: "buffys". Speaking of, do you guys remember the fires of 1984? Inside joke. Just for you Joc!
4. Mumford and Sons makes me want to strap on some mustard colored corduroy pants and a comfy sweater, sit by the fire, and talk about classic novels. It's just such cozy music. Be grateful I don't own corduroy pants because I'd look sinfully awful.
5. I had a great weekend minus the USU loss. More on my fall-full weekend later.

Happy Tuesday!

Lately

I'm just a bit behind, so here's a summary and a bunch of pics.
-I'm still loving my hikes and I'm officially obsessed with Utah scenery. I've taken it for granted but hot dang (yep, just used that term) it is beautiful! I plan to do a post devoted to my new hobby. Stay tuned!
-The Train concert made me completely adore them! I was expecting a decent show but they were so fun live.
-I went to the Pacific Partnership (the name of the trip I went on this summer) reunion. I got so see so many good friends from the Mercy. It was weird to see everyone out of their lovely blue shirts, humidity stricken hair, and khaki pants.
-Whitney's baby shower. My good friend Whit is having a girl and I'm so excited! We met at Steph's cute house, had brunch, and caught up on each others life. As always, it was a good time!
-I moved! This is a BIG deal for me. I lived in the same condo for 3 years and I was ready for a change. I moved in with a friend in the same complex and I think it was a good choice! I didn't realize how much stuff I had until it came time to moving it. I need to stay far, far, far away from the mall. I'll post pics of my new digs when it's all put together.
-I died my hair darker for the first time in 5 years. Also a huge deal. It's still pretty light but it's a big change for me. I'm not in love, but it's growing on me.

Stewart Falls

Many attempts were made to use the camera timer.
Success!

Yet another Stewart Falls hike. I sure do love this place!
Train Concert. So good!!!
Mercy girls at the reunion

The cute new mom!
The "Posse"! Love these girls.

I've got a busy weekend with the USU vs BYU game, a hike, fall leaf excursions in Sundance,  Frightmares at Lagoon, work, and preparing for a much anticipated trip to Disneyland.
